Mount St. Mary's College Doheny Campus: Doheny Mansion
Los Angeles, CA
Da Camera Society
Jordi Savall, viola da gamba

An acknowledged titan of early music and founder of the renowned ensemble Hesperion XXI, Jordi Savall brings “absolute integrity with a profound ability to communicate … always tangibly expressive” (The New York Times) to the Doheny Mansion in a solo program surveying the gamba repertoire from Hume and Ferrabosco to Bach and Abel.

The opulence and intimacy of the Pompeian Room provide a jewel-like setting for this rare solo performance by a master musician at the peak of his powers. “The hall was full of gamba fans. If not all listeners in attendance fitted that description when they arrived, they certainly did by the time they left” (The New York Times).

Following the concert, meet and chat with Mr. Savall at a champagne and dessert reception.
